Dali & Cocky Prince

Despite a rough start, love begins to blossom between an art director and the son of a family who grew their business from the ground up.

Dali & Cocky Prince (2021) is a South Korean romantic comedy miniseries created by Son Eun Hye for KBS2. Park Gyu-young plays Kim Dali, an eccentric art director whose rough first encounter with Jin Moo-hak (Kim Min-jae), the boisterous son of a family that built its restaurant business from nothing, sets the story in motion. Their relationship is the engine of the sixteen-episode run: each episode pairs workplace friction in the art world with the family's struggles to keep their business afloat after financial hardship. Kwon Yul and Hwang Hee appear among the supporting cast as the people around the couple, and their everyday entanglements add warmth and comic texture. The tone is breezy and affectionate, with moments of vulnerability as the leads open up about past wounds, all carried by a recurring background melody that becomes a romantic signature. Viewers who enjoy the playful chemistry of Crash Landing on You and the eccentric heroine charm of Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo will find a similar warmth here. Its single season and self-contained arc make it an easy weekend watch for fans of Korean romance.

Viewers rate the series positively, praising its lead performances and its lighthearted, character-driven romance, while noting that the romantic progression can feel forced.
