FC Bayern - Behind the Legend

For the first time in their history, FC Bayern Munich gives us unfettered access to the locker room and behind the scenes at this top club. The 6-part documentary covers the turbulent season after their Champions League triumph in Lisbon, celebrates the legendary victories from the past, and links momentous events in Bayern's history to the current team.

FC Bayern - Behind the Legend (2021) is a German sports documentary miniseries produced for Prime Video, following six 50-minute episodes that offer the first unfettered access to the dressing room and back offices of FC Bayern Munich. Cameras follow head coach Hansi Flick, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, former goalkeeper and CEO Oliver Kahn, club president Herbert Hainer and Bundesliga stars Robert Lewandowski, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry as the club navigates a turbulent season that follows its Champions League triumph in Lisbon. The engine of the series is the tension between expectation and performance, as the squad tries to repeat past glory while managers debate strategy, transfers and pressure from within. Each episode mixes intimate training ground and boardroom moments with archival footage of legendary victories from the club's history, linking earlier championship eras to the current team. The tone is candid, reflective and proud, with a sports documentary's immediacy and a club historian's sense of tradition. Fans of All or Nothing: Manchester City and The Last Dance will find resonance in its inside access and its blend of present drama and historical reflection. Its six episodes make it a compact, engrossing watch for anyone following German football.
