Kaleidoscope

A master thief and his crew attempt an epic and elaborate heist worth $7 billion dollars — but betrayal, greed and other threats undermine their plans.

Kaleidoscope (2023) is an American crime drama miniseries created by Eric Garcia for Netflix. Giancarlo Esposito plays Leo Pap, a master thief who leads a crew through an epic, elaborate scheme worth seven billion dollars, with Paz Vega as Ava Mercer and Rufus Sewell as Roger Salas among the principal players. The engine of the story is the plan itself: each episode tracks the crew's preparations, the moving pieces that must align, and the outside pressures that threaten to break the operation apart. Greed and betrayal erode the trust that holds the team together, so every step forward carries the risk of a turn against one another. The series unfolds as a single nine-episode story rather than a case-of-the-week format, rewarding viewers who follow its layered sequence of schemes and counterschemes. Its tone is tense and glossy, with the polished pleasure of a caper balanced against a darker undercurrent of distrust. Fans of Ocean's Eleven, Money Heist and Hustle will find resonance in its crew dynamics, its meticulous planning and its appetite for big-stakes deception.

Audiences rate the miniseries as mixed, with a respectable season score and a heist premise praised for its ambition while its execution draws middling reactions.
