Thai Cave Rescue

A Thai youth soccer team and their assistant coach are trapped within Tham Luang Cave, prompting a global rescue effort.

Thai Cave Rescue (2022) is a limited series created by Dana Ledoux Miller and Michael Russell Gunn for Netflix, a grounded true-story survival drama. Its central figures are a youth soccer team and their assistant coach, who become trapped deep inside Tham Luang Cave in northern Thailand. The engine of the story is the race against rising water and dwindling time, as rescuers, divers, and families struggle to find a path that can bring everyone out alive. Each of the six episodes moves through the practical obstacles of the operation, the logistics of an international effort, and the anxious waiting of those above ground, rather than leaning on melodrama. The tone is tense yet hopeful, with a steady, sober register that respects the real people involved. Fans of The Impossible, Chernobyl, and Society of the Snow will find similar resonance in its focus on endurance, cooperation, and the human cost of an extraordinary rescue. Its contained, single-season run gives the story a clear shape from first alarm to resolution, making it a focused, emotionally weighty watch.
