Blue Box (2024-present) is a Japanese animated slice of life series created for MBS and TBS, adapted from the manga of the same name and produced by TMS Entertainment. The story follows badminton player Taiki Inomata (voiced by Shoya Chiba), who is still far from qualifying for nationals when he notices upperclassman Chinatsu Kano (voiced by Reina Ueda) pushing herself hard on the girls' basketball team. He falls for her quickly, and an unexpected turn pulls the two closer, so the sport that organizes their days begins to compete with a budding romance. Supporting characters including Hina Chono (voiced by Akari Kito) and Kyo Kasahara (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi) fill out the school circle around them. Each episode is built from ordinary school days, practice sessions, and small social moments, with the everyday rhythm of high school life carrying the emotional weight. The tone stays warm, wistful, and gently comic, with an earnest affection for adolescent friendship and nervous first love. Viewers who enjoyed the sporting heart of Haikyu!! or the awkward teenage tenderness of Ping Pong the Animation will find a similar blend of athletic ambition and romantic uncertainty. The series is still airing, which means the story continues to unfold.

Audiences find Blue Box a warm, charming slice-of-life romance whose sports backdrop and gentle school-life comedy hold up well.

• Haikyu!!shared slice of life school romance tones and high school sports backdrop
• Kaguya-sama: Love Is Warshared shonen-adjacent school romance with a sports club focus and gentle awkward crushes
• Ping Pong the Animationshared youthful sports drama with friendship and first love under competitive pressure
