She-Ra: Princess of Power

She-Ra, He-Man's twin sister, is leading a group of freedom fighters known as the Great Rebellion in the hope of freeing their homeworld of Etheria from the tyrannical rule of Hordak and the Evil Horde.

She-Ra: Princess of Power (1985-1987) is a American first-run syndicated animated sword and sorcery series created for syndication and produced by Filmation Associates and Mattel. Voiced by Melendy Britt as the heroic princess Adora who transforms into She-Ra, with George DiCenzo as her companion Bow and John Erwin voicing her brother He-Man, the show follows a rebel group known as the Great Rebellion as it fights to free the planet Etheria from the tyrannical Hordak and his Evil Horde. Across two seasons and ninety-three episodes, each story is a self-contained action adventure built around castles, magical transformations, alien technology and battles against monstrous troopers, giving the series a brisk, episodic rhythm. Its tone is earnest and colorful, with a hopeful, adventurous spirit aimed squarely at younger viewers. Set on a sword and planet fantasy world, it sits in the lineage of toy-driven Saturday morning cartoons. Fans of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, ThunderCats and classic Dungeons and Dragons adventures will find resonance in its blend of heroic fantasy and kid-friendly action.

Audiences rate the original 1985-1987 run as mixed, with fans valuing its sword-and-sorcery adventure and heroic heroine while noting its toy-driven simplicity.
