The Prince

Following the death of the king, the youngest and least loved royal son -- known simply as “Prince” -- assumes the throne in the Kingdom of Bongomia.

The Prince (2023-2025) is a Turkish comedy series created by Giray Altınok and Bülent İşbilen, produced by MGX Film, and running for three seasons. Giray Altınok plays Prens, the youngest and least loved royal son, who assumes the throne of the fictional Kingdom of Bongomia after his father's death. Ceyda Düvenci plays Queen Sion, whose scheming shapes the court around him, while Serdar Orçin plays Kalesh and Çağdaş Onur Öztürk plays Thenio, courtiers whose rivalries keep the palace in constant motion. The engine of the series is a man who never expected to rule trying to survive ceremony, factions and his own family while ministers plot quietly against him. Each season is a continuing run of comic episodes driven by escalating court crises rather than standalone cases. The tone is sardonic, irreverent and absurd, with royal pomp treated as an exaggerated farce. Fans of Blackadder, Veep and The Death of Stalin will find resonance in its satire of power, incompetence and palace politics. The show is set in an invented monarchy that carries the feel of a parody of modern political life.

Audiences broadly embrace this acclaimed Turkish satirical comedy for its absurdist fairy-tale royal court and sharp humor.
