Boy Meets World

The coming of age events and everyday life-lessons of Cory Matthews, a Philadelphian who grows up from a young boy to a married man.

Boy Meets World (1993-2000) is an American family sitcom created by April Kelly and Michael Jacobs for ABC. Ben Savage plays Cory Matthews, a Philadelphia boy whose everyday school and home dilemmas drive each episode, alongside Rider Strong as his best friend Shawn Hunter and Danielle Fishel as Topanga Lawrence, the girl who becomes his lifelong partner. William Daniels anchors the show as George Feeny, the wise junior high teacher who delivers life lessons that echo through the series. Over seven seasons the stories follow Cory from a young boy into a married man, with the engine being the small crises of friendship, first love, family rules and school life that a kid faces while figuring out where he fits. Each episode is a self-contained lesson wrapped in a multi-camera comedy, with a warm, sincere, hopeful register and a steady supply of sitcom gags. The setting is 1990s suburban Philadelphia, a family home and a school filled with recognizable characters. Fans of The Wonder Years, Full House and Saved by the Bell will find the same blend of heart, humor and coming of age warmth.

Viewers broadly regard Boy Meets World as a warm, well-written family sitcom with strong life lessons and a highly rated final season.
