Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult

After TikTok dancers join a management company and its associated church, unsettling details about the founder and their dark realities come to light.

Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult (2024) is an American true crime docuseries created for Netflix and produced by WV Alternative and Dirty Robber. Across three episodes of roughly 54 minutes each, the series follows a group of TikTok dancers who sign with a Los Angeles management company tied to a church, drawn by the promise of fame and a community of aspiring performers. Their dreams of viral success gradually give way to living under one roof, and the series builds its case through personal home video and first-hand testimony, with the Lee sisters' accounts anchoring the most emotionally harrowing material. The engine of the story is the slow realization that the path to stardom ran through control, financial exploitation and coercion around the founder. The tone is raw, heartbreaking and unsettling, with a deliberate, grounded pace that lets former members speak in their own words. Rather than sensational reenactment, the limited series focuses on the gap between polished online personas and private reality. Fans of Wild Wild Country, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath and Heavenly Bodies will find resonance in its look at charismatic leadership, cult dynamics and the cost of believing in a dream.

Audience reception is negative overall, though viewers find the documentary raw and emotionally affecting, especially the story of the Lee sisters.
