Victorious

Aspiring singer Tori Vega navigates life while attending a performing arts high school called Hollywood Arts.

Victorious (2010-2013) is an American Nickelodeon teen sitcom created by Dan Schneider for Nickelodeon. Aspiring singer Tori Vega (Victoria Justice) leads an ensemble at Hollywood Arts, a performing arts high school in Los Angeles where talent is everything and every rehearsal is a chance for embarrassment. Her well-meaning but chaotic friends include the sardonic, pitch-perfect Jade West (Elizabeth Gillies), the dreamy and unpredictable Cat Valentine (Ariana Grande), and the level-headed Andre Harris (Leon Thomas III), while her older sister Trina Vega (Daniella Monet) provides constant rivalry at home. Across four seasons and fifty-seven episodes, the engine is simple: Tori wants her big break while schoolwork, crushes, pranks and rival students get in the way, and each episode is built around a self-contained misadventure ending in a musical number. The tone is breezy, goofy and warm, with slapstick set pieces and bickering loyalty that feel gentle and comforting. Viewers who enjoy Glee, iCarly and Hannah Montana will find the same mix of music, school-age comedy and family-friendly energy. The series was canceled after its fourth season, and its TV-G rating makes it an easy pick for younger viewers.

Viewers broadly find the sitcom a light, upbeat teen comedy with a likable cast and catchy musical moments, with audience ratings mixed.
