All About Eve

This drama is about two girls, Jin Sun Mi and Heo Young Mi. Sun Mi had a nice childhood and grew up with lots of love from her father. Young Mi's mother left her when she was young and her father was a drunk who recently died. She had a hard childhood but never gave up and made it into college.

All About Eve (2000) is a South Korean drama series created for MBC, a single-season k-drama of twenty fifty-minute episodes. Park Chae-rim plays Jin Sun-mi, a woman raised with abundant paternal love, and Kim So-yeon plays Heo Young-mi, who grew up after her mother left and her father drank himself into an early grave. Their lives collide in the cutthroat world of television journalism, where careers are built on ambition and reputation. Supporting the central pair are Kim Jung-eun as Yoo Joo-Hee, Jang Dong-gun as Yoon Hyung-chul, and Han Jae-suk as Kim Woo-jin, whose personal and professional entanglements tangle with the heroines' rivalry. The engine of the story is a contest of wills, with each woman pursuing success and love while hard-won pride and old wounds stand in the way. Episodes unfold as serialized romance and office intrigue, moving through broadcast deadlines, boardroom maneuvers, and private confrontations. The tone is melodramatic and emotionally earnest, with a glossy urban Seoul setting that gives the rivalry a polished sheen. Fans of Ugly Betty, The Devil Wears Prada, and Sky Castle will find resonance in its blend of workplace ambition, female rivalry, and romantic longing. Viewers who enjoy classic korean melodrama will find it an engaging, character-driven one-season watch.

Audiences rate the single-season South Korean drama positively, though reviewers find its setup and character behavior strained.
