Top Dog

A mysterious disappearance makes two completely separate worlds collide, creating an extremely odd couple - the lawyer Emily and recently released convict Teddy.

Top Dog (2020-2023) is a British and Swedish co-produced nordic noir crime thriller series created by Veronica Zacco, Molly Hartleb and Alexis Almström for C More. Lawyer Emily Jansson (Josefin Asplund) and Teddy Maksumic (Alexej Manvelov), a recently released convict, are an extremely odd couple thrown together when a mysterious disappearance makes their two completely separate worlds collide. Emily's professional life and Teddy's struggle to rebuild after prison grind against each other, and the investigation pulls them into dangerous territory where trust is scarce and every lead carries a cost. Sara Eriksson (Jessica Grabowsky) and Magnus Hansen (Peter Gardiner) sit among the wider cast of people caught in the case. The show runs across two seasons and fourteen episodes, a serialized story in which each episode tightens the mystery. Set in contemporary Stockholm, it has a cold, rain-soaked atmosphere, a tense and brooding tone, and a focus on class, redemption and the fragile bonds that form between strangers. Fans of The Killing, Bron and Better Call Saul will find resonance here.
