L'onore e il rispetto (2006-2017) is an Italian crime drama series created by Salvatore Samperi, Luigi Parisi and Alessio Inturri and broadcast on Canale 5 in Italy. Its five seasons follow a serialized story of criminal families, loyalty and betrayal, with Beatrice Galati as Antonia Fortebracci, Laura Torrisi as Carmela Di Venanzio, Cristopher Leoni as Leonard Di Maggio and Manuela Arcuri as Nella anchoring the main threads. The engine of the series is the tension between personal ambition and the code of honour that every character is forced to obey, with each episode building on rivalries, romances and reversals that carry from one season to the next. Shot in the glossy, melodramatic style of Italian prime-time television, the show mixes crime, violence and intimate family conflict in a tone that is intense, emotional and heavily dramatic. Fans of Beautiful and Gomorra will find resonance in its blend of soap opera passion and organised crime. The story is set in contemporary Italy, and the mood stays intense and dramatic throughout its serialized run.
