Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter (1984) is a Swedish children's educational variety series created by Lasse Haglund and Bengt Linné for SVT1. Hosted by Magnus Härenstam, Brasse Brännström and Eva Remaeus, the three presenters play themselves in a studio-based format built around songs, sketches and short lessons. Each episode works as a self-contained package in which the hosts sing and act out simple ideas about letters, numbers and spatial positions, so young viewers can pick up early literacy and counting without feeling they are in a classroom. The show runs three seasons across 51 half-hour episodes, and its gentle, cheerful register is carried by catchy musical numbers and light playful humour. The title itself, a playful nod to the ant and elephant counting joke, signals its whimsical tone. Its broadcast history includes a run as a Christmas calendar, which gave it a seasonal ritual that families shared. Fans of Sesame Street and Bert, with their blend of songs, puppetry-free sketches and early learning, will find a similar warmth and simplicity here. Because the episodes are self-contained and repetitive in the best way, the series suits preschool audiences and parents looking for gentle, educational viewing that rewards repeated watching.
