6teen

At the Galleria Mall, six teens learn the ropes at their first jobs while negotiating the bumpy road through their high school years.

6teen (2004-2010) is a Canadian animated teen sitcom created by Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch for Teletoon, later carried by Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. The series follows six teenagers who take their first jobs at the Galleria Mall, where the food court, storefronts and shifts become the stage for their friendships and small rivalries. Nikki Wong (voiced by Stacey DePass) and Jen Masterson (voiced by Megan Fahlenbock) anchor a cast that also includes Caitlin Cooke (voiced by Brooke D'Orsay) and Jonesy Garcia (voiced by Terry McGurrin), with Christian Potenza voicing Jude Lizowski. Its engine is simple and relatable: each episode puts the characters in the middle of workplace mishaps, crushes and high school pressures, and the humor grows from their awkward attempts to grow up. The show runs four seasons across ninety-four episodes, built from standalone comic stories that accumulate into a continuing sense of friendship. Set in a present-day suburban Canadian mall, it carries a breezy, warm, gently irreverent tone with a nostalgic edge. Fans of Degrassi: The Next Generation, Recess and Arthur will find similar resonance in its youthful ensemble and everyday coming-of-age humor.
