19-2

The day-to-day life of two unwilling partners of the Montreal Police Department, Officers Nick Barron and Ben Chartier. These two beat cops patrol the urban sprawl of downtown's 19th district, in cruiser No. 2. 19-2 is about the tensions and bonds that develop between two incompatible men of very different temperaments and life experiences. Over time, Nick and Ben's mistrust and antagonism for each other give way to moments of mutual respect and a wavering chance at a true partnership.

19-2 (2014-2017) is a Canadian police drama created by Réal Bossé and Claude Legault for CTV and Bravo, a four-season serialized crime drama spanning ten-episode seasons and a shorter final run. Adrian Holmes plays Nick Barron and Jared Keeso plays Ben Chartier, two unwilling partners in the Montreal Police Department who are assigned to patrol the downtown 19th district together in cruiser No. 2. Their engine is friction: two incompatible men of very different temperaments and life experiences, forced into daily proximity on calls that range from petty disorder to street-level violence. Each season builds on the last as mistrust and antagonism slowly give way to moments of mutual respect and a wavering chance at a real partnership. Supporting players including Benz Antoine as Tyler Joseph and Mylène Dinh-Robic as Betrice Hamelin widen the precinct world around them. The tone is gritty and character-driven, grounded in the urban sprawl of contemporary Montreal, with an atmosphere of weary professionalism and tenuous loyalty. Viewers who enjoy buddy cop dynamics and grounded street procedurals in the vein of Southland and Rookie Blue will find resonance here, along with the Canadian texture of Flashpoint. The series rewards patient viewing, as trust is earned in small, hard-won increments across its run.

Audiences rate the series positively overall, praising the evolving partnership between its two mismatched patrol officers, though season ratings vary widely.
