The Sound of Your Heart (2016) is a South Korean family sitcom created by Ha Byung-hoon, Lee Byeong-hun, Kwon Hye-ju and Jo Seok, produced by Kross Pictures for NAVER TV. Lee Kwang-soo plays Jo-Suk, a scheming and hapless young man whose ridiculous plans to impress and manage his household keep spiraling out of control. Kim Dae-myung plays his older brother Jo-Joon, Jung So-min plays Choi Ae-Bong, Jo-Suk's girlfriend turned wife, and Kim Byeong-ok and Kim Mi-kyung play their parents. The series follows the couple through comic misadventures with their dogs and the family around them, and each short episode is built from one escalating everyday mishap that snowballs into absurd territory. Adapted from the popular webtoon of the same name, it runs as a single season of twenty brisk episodes of about twelve minutes each. Its tone is breezy, warm and deliberately exaggerated, with a cozy domestic atmosphere and broad physical humor rather than sharp satire. Fans of Kim's Convenience, Malcolm in the Middle and other lighthearted family comedies will find the same affectionate chaos and sibling friction here, in a bright modern Seoul setting.
