Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon (2015) is a Japanese animated military fantasy series created as a SILVER LINK. production and broadcast on TOKYO MX, adapted from a light novel. Set in a world where witches run havoc and the army has just begun swapping swords for guns, the story follows Takeru Kusanagi (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya), a student who refuses to give up his blade and cannot use firearms, as he is sent to the 35th Test Platoon, a motley unit that cannot cooperate. Its engine is the squad's struggle to function as a team, sharpened by the arrival of Ouka Ohtori (voiced by Reina Ueda), a demoted elite pistol master whose skill clashes with Takeru's stubbornness. Each episode builds around training exercises, skirmishes against magical threats, and the awkward rivalries that come with them. The single season of twelve episodes is a complete arc with a compact, serialized shape rather than standalone cases. Its tone mixes brisk action, light comedy, and playful romantic tension, with fanservice moments typical of the genre. Fans of Strike Witches, Rosario + Vampire, and Gunslinger Girl will find familiar pleasures here, including the magic academy setting and the ensemble of young fighters learning to trust one another.

Audience reception is mixed, with a modest rating for this fan-favorite light novel anime adaptation.
