Riviera

After newlywed Georgina's billionaire husband Constantine is killed in a yacht explosion, she is shocked to discover the fortune and lifestyle he maintained was surrounded by violence, lies and murder. She soon must step out of her comfort zone to protect the family...and herself.

Riviera (2017-2020) is a British prestige drama series created by Neil Jordan for Sky Atlantic. Julia Stiles plays newlywed Georgina, whose billionaire husband Constantine dies in a yacht explosion and leaves her to uncover the violence, lies and murder that sustained his luxurious lifestyle on the French coast. Lena Olin plays Irina, a formidable figure within the family circle, while Rupert Graves, Adrian Lester and Juliet Stevenson add layers of rivalry, loyalty and hidden agendas. The engine of the show is Georgina's struggle to protect her family and herself as she steps far outside her comfort zone, navigating criminal associates and dangerous alliances in a world of sun-drenched villas, private yachts and shifting allegiances. Across three seasons and twenty-eight episodes, the story unfolds as a serialized saga where each chapter tightens the grip of its secrets. The mood is glossy yet menacing, mixing melodramatic family politics with a constant undercurrent of threat. Fans of Succession, The Night Manager and Dynasty will find resonance in its portrait of wealth built on corruption and its tense, luxurious atmosphere.

Mixed audience reception: the opening season drew a weaker response than the later seasons, which audiences rated higher for their escalating intrigue and lush setting.
