GAMERS!

Keita Amano is a perfectly mediocre loner with no particular distinguishing features other than his love for games. One day, his school's prettiest girl and Gamer Club President Karen Tendo suddenly calls out to him. That moment changes Keita's life forever, as he now finds himself in the midst of a romcom with beautiful girl gamers... or, well, that's how it usually goes. Not with him, however.

Gamers! (2017) is a Japanese anime comedy series produced by PINE JAM and broadcast on AT-X, running for twelve episodes. Keita Amano, a mediocre loner whose only real passion is video games, is pulled into the orbit of Karen Tendo (Hisako Kanemoto), the prettiest girl at his school and president of the Gamer Club. The engine of the show is the gap between the romcom he expects and the one he gets: the club's girl gamers pursue ordinary school life and rivalries, and Keita keeps being drawn back to the games and friendships that matter to him. Each episode is a self-contained slice of school life built around club activities, game talk, and small social misunderstandings. Other principal characters include Aguri, voiced by Rumi Okubo, and Tasuku Uehara, voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga, who fill out the club's cast. The tone is breezy, playful, and affectionate toward gaming culture, with a warm sense of comedy that never takes its romance too seriously. Fans of Nisekoi, Keijo!!!!!!!!, and Recovery of an MMO Junkie will find a similar mix of school club comedy and gaming-themed romance. Set in a contemporary Japanese high school, the series is a light, easy watch for anyone who enjoys anime built around hobbies and friendship.

Audiences find this anime light, gamer-themed romcom fun and pleasant, though its mixed overall reception reflects a formulaic harem setup rather than standout craft.

• Keijo!!!!!!!!light comedic romcom structure, gamer club setting, playful school life tone
