Alexa & Katie

Lifelong best friends Alexa and Katie are eagerly anticipating the start of their freshman year of high school. The pals confront a crisis that leaves them feeling like outsiders at a time when what seems to matter most is fitting in.

Alexa & Katie (2018-2020) is an American Netflix family comedy created by Heather Wordham. Paris Berelc plays Alexa Mendoza and Isabel May plays Katie Cooper, two lifelong best friends eagerly anticipating their freshman year of high school. Their friendship is tested when a crisis leaves them feeling like outsiders at a time when fitting in seems to matter most. Tiffani Thiessen plays Lori Mendoza, Alexa's mother, and Emery Kelly, Finn Carr, Eddie Shin and Jolie Jenkins fill out the family and household around the girls. Each episode follows the everyday ups and downs of school, family life and friendship, with the girls leaning on each other as they try to keep their bond strong. The run spans four seasons and thirty-nine short episodes of about twenty-five minutes each, following one continuing story rather than standalone cases. The tone is gentle, warm and heartwarming, with an uplifting, comforting feel suited to younger viewers and families. Its focus on loyalty, support and growing up makes it a natural pick for fans of Girl Meets World and Bunk'd who want a sweet, low-stakes watch with real emotional sincerity.

Viewers broadly find the show a warm, heartwarming family comedy with a catchy theme and strong season ratings.
