100 Days My Prince

Lee Yool falls off a cliff and nearly dies in an attempted assassination. He loses his memory, and wanders for 100 days under a new name and personality. During this period, he meets Hong Sim, head of the first detective agency in Joseon.

100 Days My Prince (2018) is a South Korean historical romantic comedy series created by So Jae-hyun and Lee Jong-jae for tvN, a sixteen-episode k-drama produced by Studio Dragon. Doh Kyung-soo plays Crown Prince Lee Yool, who falls from a cliff during an assassination attempt, loses his memory, and wanders under a new name. Nam Ji-hyun plays Hong-sim, the head of the first detective agency in Joseon, who crosses paths with him and becomes his unlikely partner in daily life. Cho Seong-ha, Oh Yeon-ah and Kim Seon-ho round out the principal cast with courtly rivals, family members and allies who orbit the pair. The engine of the show is a reluctant pairing that grows warmer through small errands, case work and everyday encounters rather than through a grand plot. Each episode is built around ordinary moments in the palace and the streets of the capital, giving the series a gentle slice of life rhythm. The tone is light and sweet, with comedic banter softening the period setting. Fans of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Love in the Moonlight will find resonance in its historical costume romance and playful leads. The overall effect is cozy and wistful, a comfort watch set in 1800s-era Korea, where a single season of sixteen episodes lets the romance unfold at an unhurried pace.

Viewers praise the lead chemistry and performances in this light Joseon romance while finding its simple, repetitive story and limited cast variety a weakness.
