The Fix

High-profile district attorney Maya Travis fled L.A. after devastating defeat when prosecuting an A-list actor for double murder. Eight years later, the same celebrity is under suspicion for another murder, and Maya is lured back to the DA’s office for another chance at justice.

The Fix (2019) is an American legal drama created by Sarah Fain, Marcia Clark and Elizabeth Craft for ABC. Robin Tunney plays Maya Travis, a high-profile district attorney who fled Los Angeles after losing a prosecution against an A-list actor for double murder. Eight years later the same celebrity falls under suspicion in another killing, and Maya is lured back to the DA's office for a second chance at justice. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje plays Severen 'Sevvy' Johnson, and Adam Rayner plays Matthew Collier, both drawn into the pressure of the case. The engine of the series is the tension between a prosecutor's ambition and the machinery of courtroom politics, with each episode built around investigation, evidence and the shifting loyalties inside the office. Across a single ten-episode season, the story unfolds as one continuing case rather than a case of the week. Set in present-day Los Angeles, the series carries a glossy, tense atmosphere in which celebrity influence and private ambition press against the search for truth. Fans of The Good Wife and The Fall will find resonance in its courtroom stakes and prosecutorial drama.

• The Fall (2013)shared legal drama procedural structure around prosecutors and high-profile celebrity trials
• The Good Wifeshared prosecutorial legal drama with courtroom stakes and a serialized mystery engine
• Law & Order: True Crimeshared crime mystery with a celebrity suspect and a wronged former courtroom outcome
