Total Dreamer (2015-2016) is a Brazilian telenovela romantic comedy created by Rosane Svartman and Paulo Halm for TV Globo. Marina Ruy Barbosa plays Eliza de Assis Monteiro, a homeless girl who dreams of lifting her family out of poverty and enters a fashion modeling contest, only to find the road to stardom far harder than she imagined. Juliana Paes plays Carolina Castilho, a rival whose glamorous world tests Eliza at every turn, while Fabio Assuncao, Felipe Simas and Humberto Martins fill out a cast of wealthy families, romantic suitors and ambitious schemers. The engine of the series is Eliza's determination pushing against social class, cutthroat competition and romantic entanglements, with each episode built from contest challenges, backstage drama, family crises and shifting alliances. Released as a single season of 175 episodes running about 41 minutes each, it unfolds in a contemporary Brazilian setting centered on the modeling industry in Rio de Janeiro. The tone is sincere, warm and melodramatic, mixing glossy fashion spectacle with humor and heartfelt romance. Viewers who enjoy Avenida Brasil, The Devil Wears Prada and Cinderella Story will find similar appeal in its rags to riches ambition and fairy tale sensibility.

Audiences rated the telenovela's mixed run modestly, with its romantic fairy-tale appeal and lead performances drawing mixed responses.
