Isekai Quartet

A mysterious switch appeared one day. Upon pressing it, they were sent to a different alternative world!! There are also characters from other alternative worlds gathered together...!?

Isekai Quartet (2019-present) is a Japanese anime comedy series created for ABEMA, a parody of the isekai genre. Its premise follows a mysterious switch that sends people into alternative worlds, and the show gathers characters from many different isekai series into one shared comedic setting. Voice performances by Aoi Yuki as Tanya Degurechaff, Jun Fukushima as Kazuma Satou, Rie Takahashi as Emilia and Megumin, and Saori Hayami as Viktoriya Serebryakov anchor the ensemble. The engine of the show is the collision of mismatched worlds, with each short episode built from crude gags, genre in-jokes, and characters tumbling through absurd misadventures. Across three seasons and roughly thirty-five episodes of about twelve minutes each, the tone stays breezy, irreverent, and chibi-bright, with a playful affection for the tropes it mocks. Fans of KonoSuba and Gintama will find resonance in its self-aware parody and unapologetic silliness, and viewers who enjoy quick anime comedy will find an easy, light watch.

Audience reception is mixed: the first two seasons are well liked as affectionate parody, while the 2025 season is rated noticeably lower.

• KonoSubashared parody of isekai conventions, chibi comedy, short episodic gags
• Re:Zeroshared isekai parody with crossover of many series' characters and comedic deconstruction
• Gintamashared absurdist comedy within a cast of mixed fantasy and military characters
• Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!shared self-aware genre parody and short comedic format
