Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons

Ten years ago, Slade Wilson-aka the super-assassin called Deathstroke-made a tragic mistake and his wife and son paid a terrible price. Now, a decade later, Wilson's family is threatened once again by the murderous Jackal and the terrorists of H.IV.E. Can Deathstroke atone for the sins of the past-or will his family pay the ultimate price?

Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons (2020) is an American animated superhero miniseries created for the CW seed, produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Berlanti Productions. The story follows the super-assassin Slade Wilson, known as Deathstroke, voiced by Michael Chiklis, who must face his violent past when the villainous Jackal and the terrorist organization H.I.V.E. threaten his wife Adeline Kane Wilson, voiced by Sasha Alexander, and their son. Wilson is a mercenary trying to atone for a tragic mistake that cost his family dearly years earlier, and the engine of the show is his struggle to protect those he failed while his old trade keeps pulling him back into combat. Each of its two forty-minute episodes is built around sharp action set pieces and grim confrontations, giving the story a compact, self-contained shape rather than a sprawling season. The tone is dark, brooding and intense, with a guilt-driven emotional core that treats redemption as costly and uncertain. Set in a present-day American landscape of covert operations and superhuman conflict, it has the feel of a mature DC animated feature stretched into television form. Fans of Batman: Under the Red Hood, Arrow and Justice League Dark will find resonance in its blend of vigilante violence and family stakes.

Reviews were mixed to positive, praising the action staging and lead voice performance while noting the story's brevity.
