She

An undercover assignment to expose a drug ring becomes a timid Mumbai constable's road to empowerment as she realizes her dormant sexuality's potential.

She (2020-2022) is an Indian crime drama series created by Imtiaz Ali for Netflix. Aaditi Pohankar plays Bhumika Pardeshi, a timid Mumbai police constable whose undercover assignment to expose a drug ring pushes her into unfamiliar territory. Her investigation brings her into contact with criminal figures and police colleagues, including Vishwas Kini as Jason Fernandez and Vijay Varma as Sasya, while her personal life and family pressures press in around her. The engine of the show is less the case itself than the slow awakening of a sheltered woman who begins to recognise her own courage and dormant sexuality as the operation demands more of her. Across two seasons of seven episodes each, the story moves through undercover deceptions, tense confrontations and quieter moments of self-discovery. Set in contemporary Mumbai, its grit and street-level crime sit alongside intimate, character-driven scenes. The tone blends tense, gritty crime with an emotional, empowering arc, and the mood is intimate and sometimes harrowing. Fans of Sacred Games and Mirzapur will find resonance in its Indian urban underworld, though its focus on a woman's transformation sets it apart. The series was canceled after its second season.
