You Are My Destiny

On a fateful cruise to Hungary, Liang Jie and Xing Zhao Lin's whirlwind romance leads to heartbreak. Will fate give their love a second chance?

You Are My Destiny (2020) is a Chinese romantic drama series created by Zou Wei Gang for Tencent Video. Xing Zhaolin plays Wang Xiyi and Liang Jie plays Chen Jiaxin, two people whose whirlwind romance begins aboard a fateful cruise to Hungary and then collides with heartbreak, leaving them to wonder whether destiny will grant them a second chance. Fu Jing as Shi Anna and Li Jiulin as Dylan orbit the central pair, adding complications to a romance built on sudden passion and painful separation. Told across a single 36-episode season of roughly 45 minutes each, the story moves through emotional reversals and time skips rather than case-of-the-week structure, so each episode builds directly on the last. The show is set in contemporary China, with its romance stretching from urban life to a sun-drenched European getaway. Its tone is wistful and sentimental, with melancholic stretches softened by lighthearted moments and a hopeful belief in fate. Fans of Meteor Garden, Eternal Love and Crash Landing on You will find the same blend of star-crossed longing and class-tinged romance.
