Alien TV

Alien reporters Ixbee, Pixbee and Squee travel to a lovely but odd planet called Earth, where they attempt to make sense of humans and their hobbies.

Alien TV (2020-2021) is an Australian scripted animated comedy series created by Olivier Dumont for Netflix. Its protagonists are three alien reporters, Ixbee, Pixbee and Squee, who travel to Earth and attempt to make sense of human behaviour and the hobbies that absorb people. Voiced by Rob Tinkler, Julie Lemieux, Kyle Dooley, Rupert Degas and John Cleland, the trio approaches each assignment with earnest bewilderment, so every short episode is built around a new human pastime seen through an outsider's eye. The show runs for two seasons of thirteen episodes each, twenty-six episodes in all, with roughly twenty-two-minute runtimes. Its three-dimensional animation gives the planet a bright, colourful look, and the mood stays gentle, playful and whimsical throughout. Little is asked of a young viewer beyond curiosity and a laugh at the gap between alien logic and ordinary routines. Fans of Phineas and Ferb, Futurama and Lilo and Stitch will find a similar blend of kid-friendly absurdity and sci-fi observation here, making it an easy pick for families looking for light, undemanding animated comedy.

Audiences rate the series mixed overall, with the first and second seasons both well liked by some viewers while one reviewer found it moronic.
