A game show based on the Carmen Sandiego computer game series created by Brøderbund Software.

Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? (1991-1995) is an American public television game show created around the Brøderbund Software computer game series and broadcast on PBS. Host Greg Lee (Greg Lee) presides over a format in which contestants work through geography clues to pursue a fugitive thief moving across the globe, while The Chief, played by Lynne Thigpen, oversees the investigation. Across four seasons and 119 episodes, the show is built from a steady stream of short, self-contained rounds in which players gather clues, answer questions about countries, landmarks, and cultures, and close in on the suspect. The tone is bright, upbeat, and playful, with a classroom-friendly warmth that treats learning as a shared adventure rather than a test. Its appeal rests on the satisfaction of a well-timed deduction and the sense of traveling the world from a studio chair.
