Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin

Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls finds themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago, as well as their own.

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin (2022-2024) is a United States teen mystery thriller series created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring for HBO Max. It is a reboot of the earlier Pretty Little Liars and runs for two seasons across eighteen episodes before its cancellation. Bailee Madison plays Imogen Adams, Chandler Kinney plays Tabitha 'Tabby' Haworthe, Maia Reficco plays Noa Olivar, and Zaria plays Faran Bryant, a disparate group of girls drawn together when an unknown Assailant begins tormenting them. The engine of the show is a search for the tormentor's identity, with each episode built around threats, clues, and suspicion turning on classmates and family members. Set in the present day in Millwood, a blue-collar town nearly torn apart twenty years earlier, the series moves through school halls, family homes, and summer nights shadowed by dread. Its tone is tense, glossy, and often lurid, mixing whodunit twists with slasher-style menace and frank teen drama about friendship, identity, and loyalty. Viewers who enjoyed the original Pretty Little Liars, Riverdale, or Scream: The TV Series will find familiar pleasures here, along with a more mature, TV-MA edge.

Audiences find the reboot a mixed continuation of the original's teen mystery, praising its fun, scares and friendship focus while its reception is divided overall.
