Baymax!

Return to the fantastical city of San Fransokyo where the affable, inflatable, inimitable healthcare companion robot, Baymax, sets out to do what he was programmed to do: help others.

Baymax! (2022) is a Disney+ animated miniseries created in the family superhero tradition of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Set in the fantastical city of San Fransokyo, it follows the affable inflatable healthcare companion robot Baymax, voiced by Scott Adsit, as he sets out to do what he was programmed to do: help others. Ryan Potter voices Hiro, the young inventor who first brought Baymax to life, while Maya Rudolph voices Aunt Cass and Zeno Robinson, Lilimar, and Jaboukie Young-White voice Hiro's friends. Across six roughly twelve-minute episodes, the engine is simple and charming: Baymax encounters a neighbor, classmate, or stranger with a problem, and his gentle, literal-minded good intentions turn small troubles into satisfying little rescues. The structure is largely episodic, with each short adventure building a mood of cozy, optimistic warmth. Its bright 3D animation and playful humor give it a slice of life feel with light superhero flourishes. Fans of Big Hero 6, Wall-E and Bluey will find similar kindness, humor and heart in this brief, sweetly uplifting family animation.

Audience reception is positive, with viewers appreciating the warm, family-friendly spin-off of Big Hero 6 centered on Baymax's caring mission.
