What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film interweaves archival footage, Ukrainian survivor testimony, and expert commentary to reconstruct Soviet sexual repression.
Its central inquiry connects sexual ignorance, repression, exploitation, abortion, queer life, and state power in the USSR.
Contemporary Ukrainian survivors and experts revisit the concealed sexual history of Soviet society.
The film directly addresses rape, gulag life, prostitution, sexpionage, and abuse rather than softening the regime's record.
