Snow Queen

A young woman must journey through the seasons to rescue her boyfriend who has been kidnapped by the evil Snow Queen.

Snow Queen (2002) is an American fantasy miniseries created by Simon Moore for Hallmark Channel. Across two episodes, a young woman sets out on a journey through the seasons to rescue her boyfriend, who has been kidnapped by the evil Snow Queen. Bridget Fonda plays the icy antagonist, a sorceress whose cold domain stands between the heroine and her captive love. Chelsea Hobbs plays Gerda, the determined heroine whose quest carries her through encounters with figures tied to each season, including the Spring Witch, the Summer Princess, and the Autumn Robber. Along the way she meets a Robber Girl and other characters who shape her path toward the frozen realm. The story is a compact fairy tale adventure, built on a clear rescue goal and a steady sequence of magical obstacles and encounters. Its tone is earnest, warm, and wholesome, with a storybook quality suited to family viewing. Fans of Merlin, Legend of the Seeker, and the 2005 Snow Queen adaptation will find a similar appeal in its fairy tale romance, magic, and heroic quest.
