Summertime

After 19 years of friendship, Eun-ho is oblivious to Do-hyun’s obsessive crush. But a new student’s arrival threatens to expose the perfect façade.

Summertime (2026) is a South Korean web series created by I Ro-mil for wavve. Eun-ho, played by Kim Do-min, has spent nineteen years as the easygoing best friend of Do-hyun, played by Seong In-ho, and he remains blissfully unaware that Do-hyun harbors an obsessive, possessive crush on him. The engine of the miniseries is the careful maintenance of a perfect façade: Do-hyun works to keep his feelings hidden while the friendship's routines grind on day by day. Everything shifts when a transfer student, Kwon I-hyun, played by Lim Young-min, arrives at the school and threatens to expose the carefully managed surface of the group. Supporting roles from Han Jong-kyu as Yu Won-ho and Park Hyun-ji as Cha Ji-hyun fill out the classroom circle around them. Across ten half-hour episodes, the story unfolds as a single continuing arc rather than a case-of-the-week format, making it a compact limited run. Set in contemporary Korean school life, the series plays out in a summer atmosphere of heat, restless adolescence and quiet dread. Its tone is intimate, tense and melancholic, with jealousy and unspoken longing driving each scene. Fans of Heartstopper, Love Alarm and Call Me by Your Name will find resonance in its queer adolescent romance and aching sense of hidden desire.

• Heartstopperschool romance, slow building queer attraction, coming of age tension
