Cherry Blossoms After Winter

Raised like brothers, Haebom and Taesung start to feel something more as high school brings them closer than ever.

Cherry Blossoms After Winter (2022) is a South Korean boys' love romance series created by 밤우 for WeTV and W-STORY, a short eight-episode run adapted from a webtoon. Seo Haebom (Ok Jin-uk) and Jo Taesung (Kang Hui) have been raised like brothers under one roof, sharing a home and a daily rhythm, and the engine of the story is the slow, uncertain shift as high school brings them closer than ever and their familiar bond begins to feel like something more. Each episode is built from ordinary school days, quiet conversations, shared chores and the small jealousies and hesitations that come with growing up, with the friends and classmates around them, including Yong-hee (Cha Gun) and Nam Ji-ah (Shin Jee-won), giving the romance a social world to push against. The show is gentle and wistful, favoring glances and unspoken feeling over melodrama, with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere of adolescence in a Korean school setting. Its shape is a single continuous arc rather than standalone cases, so the emotional progress accumulates across the season. Fans of Heartstopper, Love, Simon and Given will find resonance in its tender coming-of-age longing and its careful handling of first love between young men.

Audiences rate the series positively, with a modest score, praising its gentle coming-of-age romance between two boys raised like brothers.
