The Sex Lives of College Girls

Follow four college roommates as they arrive at New England's prestigious Essex College. A bundle of contradictions and hormones, these girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating as they live out their new, free lives on campus.

The Sex Lives of College Girls (2021-2025) is an American comedy-drama series created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble for HBO Max. Following four college roommates arriving at the prestigious Essex College in New England, the show centers on Kimberly Finkle (Pauline Chalamet), Bela Malhotra (Amrit Kaur), Leighton Murray (Reneé Rapp), and Whitney Chase (Alyah Chanelle Scott) as they test their newfound independence. The engine of each episode is the push and pull of dorm life: romantic missteps, hookups, friendship fallouts, academic pressure, and the awkward work of figuring out who they want to be away from home. Their contradictions make them both lovable and exasperating. The show runs three seasons of ten half-hour episodes each, told as one continuing story that follows its characters through campus parties, classes, and tangled relationships. Its tone is frank, bawdy, and warm, with sharp humor about sexuality and the messy stretch of young adulthood. Viewers who enjoy Broad City, Girls, and Insatiable will find the same candid, female-centered comedy about growing up in public.

Audiences find the series a lively, frank campus comedy-drama whose four roommates are lovable and frustrating in equal measure, with its rating slipping across seasons.
