Isis (1975-1976) is an American live-action superhero series created by Marc Richards for CBS, produced by Filmation and aired in the Saturday morning cartoon lineup. JoAnna Cameron plays Andrea Thomas, a mild-mannered teacher who transforms into the heroine Isis when she is called to help people in danger. Brian Cutler plays Rick Mason, and Ronalda Douglas plays Rennie Carol, with Albert Reed Jr. as Dr. Barnes supporting the heroine's double life. Each episode is a self-contained case of the week, with the heroine confronting a threat and then returning to her ordinary life. The series spans two seasons and twenty-two episodes, and its tone is earnest, bright and gently playful, aimed at younger viewers. It was notable as the first weekly American live-action series with a female superhero lead, arriving before Wonder Woman and The Bionic Woman.
