Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends is an American animated television series produced by Marvel Productions starring established Marvel Comics characters Spider-Man and Iceman and an original character, Firestar. As a trio called the Spider-Friends, they fought against various villains.

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (1981-1983) is an American animated superhero series created by Stan Lee for NBC. Produced by Marvel Productions, it follows Peter Parker's Spider-Man alongside Iceman and the newly created Firestar as the Spider-Friends, a trio that teams up to face a rotating roster of villains. Dan Gilvezan voices Spider-Man, Frank Welker gives Iceman his voice, and Kathy Garver brings Firestar to life, with June Foray appearing as Aunt May. The engine of each episode is simple and brisk: a threat emerges, the friends combine their distinct powers, and good wins out within a single half hour. Across three seasons and twenty-four episodes, the show stays a cheerful, bright and earnest piece of early eighties saturday morning television, built on wholesome teamwork rather than darkness. Its tone is gentle and nostalgic, with bright action and light humor aimed squarely at children. Fans of Super Friends, Teen Titans and Iron Man: Armored Adventures will find a similar kinship in its comic book heroics, friendly banter and kid-friendly stakes.

Audiences rate the series positively as a lighthearted superhero cartoon for children, though its animation and storytelling are modest.
