The Incredible Hulk is an animated television series based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The series ran for 13 episodes on NBC in 1982, part of a combined hour with Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Unlike the previous live-action The Incredible Hulk television series from Universal in the 1970s, this series was based upon the Hulk comic-books and was able to portray the more fantastical elements of the comics as sticking to his true name and origin as well as featuring the return of the original characters in his life all of which the live-action series refused to show. It featured stories faithful to the source material from Marvel, In addition, new recurring characters were created for the series including the Hispanic family of father Rio and his youthful daughter Rita.

The Incredible Hulk (1982-1983) is an American animated superhero series created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for NBC. Voiced by Michael Bell as the scientist Bruce Banner, the show follows a gentle researcher who transforms into the enormous green Hulk whenever his anger rises, a power he must keep hidden from the army and from his friends. Michael Horton voices his loyal companion Rick Jones, B.J. Ward voices Betty Ross, and Robert Ridgely voices General Ross, the military man determined to capture the creature. Bob Holt voices the Hulk himself, and Stan Lee narrates the adventures. Each half-hour episode is a self-contained case of the week, with the hero dodging pursuit, protecting ordinary people from villains and monsters, and grappling with the cost of his double life. The thirteen-episode run was a single season broadcast on NBC as part of a combined hour with Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Unlike the earlier live-action series of the 1970s, this cartoon embraces the fantastical elements of the comics and the original characters from the source material. The tone is earnest, bright and action-driven, with a wholesome, comic-book sincerity.
