Charlie Chopra And The Mystery Of Solang Valley

Amateur detective Charlie Chopra investigates a murder at her fiancé's family home in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, uncovering secrets and facing danger.

Charlie Chopra & the Mystery of Solang Valley (2023) is an Indian streaming miniseries created by Vishal Bhardwaj for SonyLIV. Wamiqa Gabbi plays Charulatha Charlie Chopra, an amateur detective who arrives at her fiance's family home in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh after a murder shatters the household. Neena Gupta, Lalit Parimoo, Priyanshu Painyuli and Lara Dutta appear among the principal figures whose loyalties and histories become suspect as the investigation tightens. The engine of the story is simple and gripping: Charlie must pry open a closed circle of relatives and locals, testing each alibi and half-truth while her own position within the family grows precarious. Across six roughly forty-minute episodes, the series builds a single continuing inquiry rather than a case of the week, so each revelation reshapes the picture of who had reason to kill. Set in a remote, rain-soaked hill country where the landscape isolates everyone, the show moves with a tense, measured pulse, foregrounding atmosphere, unease and the quiet pressure of old family silences. Its tone blends suspense with melancholy and domestic drama. Fans of Agatha Christie's Poirot and Broadchurch will find resonance in its whodunit mechanics and its focus on a determined woman piercing a community's secrets.
