The Do-Over Damsel Conquers The Dragon Emperor

Jill Savelle—fiancée of the crown prince Gerald de Kleitos and known as the "Lady Goddess of War"—is being hunted down by the same country she swore to protect. Betrayed by her betrothed, she is framed as a traitor and imprisoned. In her last moments, Jill is filled with regret, but just as death approaches, she awakens six years in the past. This time, she will not be a mere pawn. Now as a 10-year-old girl, Jill resolves to escape her imminent engagement to the prince. To this end, she jokingly professes her love to the 19-year-old dragon emperor Hades Theos Rave, who will one day stain the land in blood due to madness. But against all expectations, he accepts! In contrast to the tyrant from Jill's memories, the Hades of this time is a kind albeit unfortunate emperor. Can Jill prevent Hades from descending down the same dark, villainous road, or is he bound to an inevitable future?

The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor (2024) is a Japanese anime fantasy romance series produced by J.C.STAFF and aired on AT-X, adapted from a light novel. Jill Savelle, once called the Lady Goddess of War, is betrayed by her fiancé, Crown Prince Gerald, framed as a traitor, and executed. She awakens six years earlier as a ten-year-old determined to escape her arranged engagement. Her plan begins with a half-joking declaration of love to the nineteen-year-old dragon emperor Hades Theos Rave, who unexpectedly accepts. Voiced by Shu Uchida as Jill and Kikunosuke Toya as Hades, the series builds its engine around Jill's attempts to alter a future she remembers in painful detail, while managing a court full of rivals and a gentle emperor who is not yet the tyrant she knew. Each episode weaves political maneuvering, palace intrigue and a slowly warming relationship into a light, earnest rhythm. The twelve-episode run is a single continuous story set in an invented fantasy empire with courtly rooms, imperial politics and dragon lore. The tone is romantic and hopeful, with a wistful undercurrent of regret and a sense of destiny that viewers of Re:Zero and The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World will find familiar. Fans of Ascendance of a Bookworm will also find its heroine-driven second chances appealing.

Audience reception is mixed, with a modest rating for its romance-driven take on a regression premise.
