NCIS: Los Angeles

The exploits of the Los Angeles–based Office of Special Projects (OSP), an elite division of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service that specializes in undercover assignments.

NCIS: Los Angeles follows a close-knit team of Office of Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents who track down murderers, traitors, and terrorists threatening the U.S. Navy, Marines, and the nation. Led by a stoic former Navy SEAL and supported by a sharp-witted forensic specialist, a tech wizard, and a shifting roster of field agents, the crew balances high-stakes undercover operations with the warmth of a found family. Episodes mix procedural puzzle-solving, forensic clue-chasing, and explosive action set against the sun-bleached backdrop of Los Angeles, San Diego, and overseas locations. The tone stays brisk and tense, punctuated by gallows humor and quiet moments of loyalty, grief, and personal redemption. Over more than a decade of seasons, the series has leaned into long-running character arcs, romantic subplots, and the costs of covert work on families and friendships. Its comfort lies in reliable teamwork and familiar faces, while its suspense comes from unpredictable villains and cases that often hit close to home. Viewers who enjoy polished, plot-driven crime drama with a heart will find the show's blend of camaraderie and danger consistently engaging, even as its later years grow more formulaic. The series remains a durable, crowd-pleasing staple of network procedural television.

Reviewers generally find the show a reliable, action-driven procedural whose team chemistry carries it, though its formula grows repetitive over the long run.
