Our Generation

Lin Qile and Jiang Qiaoxi reconnect in high school after a childhood friendship and a lingering misunderstanding. As they navigate youth's ups and downs alongside their classmates, they grow through shared experiences and step into new horizons.

Our Generation (2025) is a Chinese web drama series created by Yun Zhu and aired on Youku. Set in 1990s China, the twenty-four-episode story follows Lin Qile (Zhao Jinmai) and Jiang Qiaoxi (Zhang Linghe), childhood friends who reconnect when they land in the same high school class. A lingering misunderstanding from their earlier years hangs between them, and each episode threads that tension through the everyday texture of school life, with classmates like Zhao Shengjuan (Dong Jie) and Qin Yeyun (Shen Jiayu) drawing the group into shared exams, friendships, and small rivalries. The engine is simple: two young people try to speak honestly to each other while growing into new ambitions and horizons. The show is a single-season, one continuing story told at a measured pace, with flashbacks to the childhood bond that gives the present-day romance its weight. Its tone is wistful and warm, with nostalgic school-days textures and a sincere, hopeful sense of youth. Fans of Meteor Garden, Heartstrings and Put Your Head on My Shoulder will find resonance in its earnest first-love register and its tender look back at growing up.
