The Legend

A young agent goes undercover to befriend a drug smuggler's wife. But the closer she gets to her target, the more complicated her mission becomes.

The Asset (2025) is a Danish crime thriller series created for Netflix and produced by Profile Pictures, a six-episode season that runs about fifty minutes per episode. Clara Dessau plays Tea, a young agent sent undercover with a new identity to befriend the wife of a drug smuggler; the operation is built around Tea's patient, daily effort to win the trust of Ashley, played by Maria Cordsen, while Miran, played by Afshin Firouzi, and Folke, played by Nicolas Bro, represent the criminal and institutional pressures closing in around her. The engine of the story is simple and taut: every conversation at a kitchen table or a family gathering carries risk, and each episode tightens the gap between the mission and what Tea begins to feel for the people she is deceiving. The show is a single continuous arc rather than a case of the week, unfolding in a serialized structure where each hour adds pressure. Its tone is tense, suspenseful and morally uneasy, with a grounded, documentary-leaning realism and a steady sense of dread. Set in present-day Denmark, it sits within the Scandinavian crime tradition and will appeal to viewers who enjoy the layered character work of The Bridge, along with fans of The Sopranos and Breaking Bad who value undercover tension and compromised loyalties.

Viewers broadly find the series gripping, suspenseful and well acted, with audience ratings reflecting a mixed but generally positive response.
