Burn Notice

A formerly blacklisted spy uses his unique skills and training to help people in desperate situations.

Burn Notice (2007-2013) is an American spy drama series created by Matt Nix for USA Network. Former covert operative Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) has been cut loose by his agency with no explanation and no paycheck, so he works freelance from sunny Miami, helping people in desperate situations while he searches for the people who burned him. He is aided by his volatile ex girlfriend Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar), the wisecracking former Navy special operative Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell), and his mother Madeline Westen (Sharon Gless). Each episode is built around a client problem, from a stalked woman to a rigged business deal, and the team improvises gadgets, disguises and cons to pull it off. Over seven seasons the larger mystery of who burned Michael and why stays in the background and comes forward in arcs. The tone blends brisk action with sardonic narration, playful banter and warm family bickering, in the spirit of Chuck, The A-Team and Miami Vice. Fans of those shows will find resonance here.

Viewers broadly rate the series as a fun, well-crafted action caper with a charismatic lead trio and a witty, breezy voice-over engine.
