Buzz Lightyear of Star Command

Buzz Lightyear’s adventures as he patrols the galaxy with his team of Space Rangers, battling evildoers “to infinity and beyond.”

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000-2001) is an American animated space opera series created for UPN, a Disney Television Animation and Pixar production spun off from the Toy Story films. Patrick Warburton voices the earnest title hero Buzz Lightyear, who leads a team of Space Rangers across the galaxy alongside Nicole Sullivan as Princess Mira Nova and Stephen Furst as the comic sidekick Booster. Each episode delivers a self-contained mission in which the crew tracks down evildoers, with Wayne Knight voicing the recurring villain Emperor Zurg, whose schemes give the single season a loose throughline. The engine is simple: a sincere hero races to stop a threat, and humor comes from his unshakable confidence and the friction within his team. Shaped as one season of 62 episodes, the series is a light, bright, kid-friendly ensemble adventure with bold space visuals and cheerful goofiness. Its sensibility sits in the vein of Star Wars: Clone Wars and Teen Titans, with a playful tone that rewards family viewing. Its catchphrase spirit, to infinity and beyond, captures the wide-eyed optimism throughout.

Audience reception is mixed, with viewers enjoying the Toy Story-era Buzz Lightyear character as a fun, action-packed kids' space adventure.
