K (2012-2015) is a Japanese animated action fantasy series created for TBS and MBS, produced by GoHands and adapted from a manga. Shiro, an easygoing teenager who only wants to live an ordinary student life, suddenly finds himself marked for death by a bloodthirsty clan after being falsely suspected of killing one of their members. He is rescued by Kurou Yatogami (Daisuke Ono), a mysterious young man who saves him only to reveal he is also after Shiro's life. Shiro must evade the clans of seven powerful kings while desperately trying to prove his innocence. The series runs across two seasons totaling twenty-six episodes, and it works as a stylized anime built around recurring street battles, color-coded powers and shifting alliances. Its tone mixes youthful bromance and rivalry with bursts of violent action, giving it a swaggering, propulsive energy. Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, Blood Blockade Battlefront and Gintama will find a similar blend of supernatural factions, stylish combat and a buddy-driven heart. Each episode delivers a fresh clash, and the larger mystery of the clans unfolds across the seasons.

Audiences rate the series as mixed-to-positive, praising its stylish action and friendship between its leads while finding its overall story hard to follow.

• Blood Blockade Battlefrontshared stylized urban action, supernatural factions and a hunted young protagonist
