You, Me and the Apocalypse

When the news is announced that a comet is on an unavoidable collision course with Earth, the most hilarious and unexpected chain of events imaginable is set in motion.

You, Me and the Apocalypse (2015) is a British comedy-drama science fiction series created by Iain Hollands for Sky One. Its single ten-episode season follows Jamie Winton (Mathew Baynton), an ordinary man whose personal life is already falling apart when news arrives that a comet is on an unavoidable collision course with Earth. Jamie's search for his missing wife becomes entangled with the Vatican, a priest named Father Jude (Rob Lowe), and a cloistered order of nuns, while his bickering relatives, including Rhonda (Jenna Fischer) and Dave (Joel Fry), drag him across a world drifting toward disaster. The engine of the show is the clock: every episode forces the characters to chase answers, dodge officials, and confront their own failures before the sky fills with fire. Its tone is irreverent and warm, mixing farce, awkward family rows, and sudden moments of sincerity as the stakes grow. Fans of Good Omens and Hot Fuzz will find the same mix of British absurdity and heartfelt chaos. The series is a contained, self-contained comedy that ends on an open note, left unresolved after its cancellation.

Audiences rated this single-season comet-apocalypse comedy positively, praising its farcical energy and the ensemble's chemistry.
