Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Rebecca Bunch is a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything - her partnership at a prestigious law firm and her upscale apartment in Manhattan - in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: suburban West Covina, California.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015-2019) is an American network musical comedy series created by Rachel Bloom and Aline Brosh McKenna for The CW. Rachel Bloom stars as Rebecca Bunch, a driven Manhattan law firm associate who impulsively uproots her life for a former summer camp crush, Greg Serrano (Santino Fontana), and settles in suburban West Covina, California. Across four seasons, her attempts to win love and rebuild herself unfold through a mix of workplace fallout, new friendships with Paula Proctor (Donna Lynne Champlin) and Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III), and a steady stream of original songs that carry her feelings into full production numbers. The engine of the show is Rebecca's restless longing and her struggle to tell the difference between love and obsession, with each episode built around a fresh romantic entanglement and a fresh musical set piece. The tone swings between sharp, self-aware comedy and tender vulnerability, giving the series a bittersweet, wistful edge beneath its breezy surface. Fans of Galavant, Schitt's Creek and Scrubs will find resonance in its blend of satire, sincerity and heart.

Critics broadly praise the show's sharp original musical numbers, its lead performance, and its candid handling of mental health within a romantic comedy, though they find its later seasons less consistent than its early run.
